Bahamut Lagoon

Since this message board is devoted to dragon-related RPGs, I thought I should mention one of my favorite games, Bahamut Lagoon for the Super Famicom (SNES). Released in 1996 by Squaresoft, Bahamut Lagoon is a strategy RPG similar to Front Mission, but with dragons and four-person attack squads instead of giant robots. Many of the Final Fantasy VI staff members were involved with Bahamut Lagoon, so it has a similar artistic style as well as a few cameos of FFVI enemies, such as Presenter. Although never released outside of Japan, Bahamut Lagoon was fully translated in 2002 by Tomato, Dark Force, and Neill Corlett. Fans of dragon-related fantasy games should check it out, especially if they liked FFVI.

"Blue field of health, red sun of strength, white chalice of hope.
Praise be to the land of Kuniya! Long live its people!"

-Rough translation of the first two lines of Kuniya Aikokka, the national anthem
